More about: 50 Cent
50 Cent, Timbaland and Mary J. Blige’s names have all appeared in relation to an investigation into steroid trafficking, it’s been claimed.
The artists, who also include Wyclef Jean, may have either used or received performance enhancing drugs in recent years.
It’s understood that none of the artists, who were named by The Times Union of Albany newspaper on Sunday (January 13th), will face criminal investigation.
Officials are instead expected to focus on the doctors and clinics who supply the drugs.
Karynne Tencer, a spokeswoman for Mary J. Blige, denied that her client had any association with performance enhancing drugs.
"Mary J. Blige has never taken any performance-enhancing illegal steroids," she told the New York Daily News.
The artists’ names appeared as part of a long running investigation by Albany District Attorney P. David Soares which has so far convicted ten people.
A spokesperson for Soares said he would not be "confirming, denying or discussing any of the names" involved, reports AP.
