Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien has hailed Kings Of Leon as ‘the greatest band in the world at the moment’.

O’Brien made the statement along with frontman Thom Yorke as the pair presented a show on Radio One last night (January 17th).

Filling in for DJ Zane Lowe, both Yorke and O’Brien had complete control over the shows setlist, opting to open proceedings with MIA’s ‘Paper Planes’.

The band’s radio appearance came a day after they played a free gig at 93 Feet East in London.

Originally scheduled to perform at the record store Rough Trade East, the gig was upgraded at the last moment following police concerns.

While both O’Brien and Yorke recalled a number of songs from their past – including tracks by Sonic Youth and XTC – they also played tracks by !!!, Grizzly Bear and Iron And Wine during their two hour show.
