Usher Slams Noel Gallagher Over Jay-Z Glastonbury Comments

R&B star is not happy...

US R&B star Usher has attacked Noel Gallagher over comments the Oasis guitarist made about Jay-Z headlining this years Glastonbury Festival.

Last month, Gallagher said it was “wrong” for a hip-hop artist to top the bill, adding: “I'm sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance.”

Usher said that he was “shocked” by Gallagher’s comments and described Jay-Z as “an incredible artist and headliner”.

“I saw him perform at the Hollywood Bowl in LA, and you’re not getting better than that,” he told the Sun.

Usher’s response comes just days after organiser Michael Eavis asked why Gallagher should want to get involved with which artists are playing.

“He should give someone else a chance. He needn’t have said that and I was disappointed he did.”

Jay-Z will headline the Pyramid Stage at this year’s festival, which runs from June 27th-29th, alongside The Verve and Kings of Leon.

    • As Noel Gallagher is a hero of mine I was dissapointed in his comments. Jay Z is a legend, I suggest anyone who doubts his talent may want to have listen to The Blueprint or Black Album. The backlash seems to be to be foundered on ignorance and prejudice, not all rappers are the same but some narrow minded people tar them all with the same brush. Glastonbury is not just about guitar music and it never has been and I hope it never will be.
