Sir Paul McCartney has apparently called for people to stop eating meat on a Monday.

His comments follow a new report from the United Nations which says that by cutting down on their meat intake, people will help slow down the rate of climate change.

"A meat-free Monday is like going to the gym - with the advantage of protecting the planet," McCartney said.

McCartney, a long-term advocate of vegetarianism, recently spoke out against a planned Kangaroo cull in Australia, saying it would be a “shameful massacre”.

Would you give up meat on a Monday, or any day of the week? Leave a comment below...

  • Pauls Lost the plot. Even greenpeace recommend eating kangaroo meat. Pasty Pauls Vego group just use any event to try and push vegetarianism onto other people. The truth is Broad acre cropping completly destroys that natural evnironment. swap Meat for gentically modified soya - I dont think so!

  • Going meatless on Mondays is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to make a difference in the health of the environment. I work for Meatless Monday, a non-profit public health campaign. We support this idea of helping yourself and the environment by choosing healthier food options. If you are interested in finding meatless recipes or learning more about the campaign, we urge you to check out http://www.meatlessmonday.com/ Small changes on an individual scale can make big changes globally.
