Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has slammed fans of Radiohead and Coldplay, labelling them “boring and ugly”.

In a rare interview, Gallagher said he had “mellowed” in recent years “but not in the sense of liking Radiohead and Coldplay.”

“I don't hate them. I don't wish they had accidents. I think their fans are boring and ugly and they don't look like they're having a good time,” he added.

Gallagher also told the Times newspaper that he had no interest in current bands.

“I play The Beatles, The (Rolling) Stones, The Kinks, Neil Young, the (Sex) Pistols. Maybe a bit of The (Stone) Roses. Don't like modern bands. Topman music, innit?"

Oasis return next month with 'The Shock Of Lightning', the first single to be taken from their new album 'Dig Out Your Soul', which is released on October 6th.

The band have yet to confirm any UK dates, but are expected to announce at tour that will include a show at Wembley Stadium in London.
