Around three hundred people have taken part in a spontaneous rave in an Ikea store in Milton Keynes.
The party, which was organised via the social-networking website Facebook, was held to remember the former Sanctuary nightclub.
The club was demolished in 2004 in order to make way for the Swedish furniture store.
Video footage – which can bee seen below – of the event has emerged online and appears to show participation from regular customers, in addition to the organisers.
The event has already triggered a huge response for the club's return, with one person writing: “You have total respect from the many thousands of people who travelled from the corners of the country to experience The Sanctuary back in the day.”
A spokesperson for Ikea said: “We can confirm it happened and about 50 people turned up but we don't want to comment any further."
It's thought the rave went ahead with the knowledge of the local Buckinghamshire police force.
- Looked.. ermm... less like a rave more of a few people blowing a few horns... boring!
- To the tune of Big Fun, Inner City : We’re having meatballs, the party’’s just begun yeah yeah yeah!"
