Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has said that spending time with Led Zeppelin is like “being around gods”.

The former Nirvana drummer revealed that he still gets nervous with the band, even though guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones performed with Foo Fighters at Wembley Stadium last July.

Grohl presented Led Zeppelin's singer Robert Plant and Page with the Lifetime Achievement award at last night's GQ Men of the Year awards in London.

Speaking to the BBC at the event he said that he “wouldn't be here” if it wasn't for his love of the group.

“They were without a doubt my favourite band of all time, and I learned how to play drums by listening to Led Zeppelin records, and I studied Jimmy Page's acoustic and electric guitar work…I didn't go to college - I'm a high school drop out. I studied Led Zeppelin."

You can see all of the action from last night's ceremony on Gigwise here.
