More about: Katy Perry
In London tonight...
Katy Perry called for fans to make out with each other as she played her first ever gig in the United Kingdom tonight (September 10th).
After beginning her set with ‘Fingerprints’, Perry introduced the title track from her debut album, ‘One For The Boys’, by asking if “anybody was ready to make out”.
Greeted by a mixed response, the singer alluded to her upbringing as the child of two pastors, saying: “When I started to date, which was like yesterday, because my parent’s didn’t let me.”
Although her album has yet to be released in the UK, the majority of the 150-strong audience seemed to know the words to most songs.
‘Hot N Cold’, ‘Ur So Gay’ and ‘Mannequin’ were already notable favourites with the British contingent of Perry’s ‘Katy 's Kats’ fan club.
After the former, Perry, who was talkative throughout the show, thanked the crowd for “popping my [British] cherry”.
When asked what it felt like by one fan, she replied: “Messy.”
As expected, set closer ‘I Kissed A Girl’, which topped the charts around the world during the summer’, prompted the most raucous reaction.
Perry’s album ‘One For The Boys’ is available from Monday (September 15th).
