Oasis' Noel Gallagher's On Stage Attacker Has Charge Upgraded
Prosecutors in Canada have upgraded the charge against a man accused of attacking Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher on stage at a music festival.
47-year-old Daniel Sullivan is now charged with one count of aggravated assault, which carries a maximum jail term of fourteen years.
Sullivan is accused of pushing Gallagher from behind during the band's headlining performance at the Virgin Festival in Toronto last August
He was initially charged with assault, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
Oasis were forced to cancel the remaining dates of their North American tour following the incident, which left Gallagher with broken ribs.
The guitarist revealed recently that he feared he had been stabbed in the immediate aftermath of the attack.
