- More Britney Spears
Britney Spears kicked off her first full concert tour in five years in New Orleans last night (March 3rd).
The singer wowed a sold-out crowd at the New Orleans Arena with a dramatic Circus stage show, which saw her dressed in a provocative ringmaster's outfit.
The concert – the first of 25 dates across America – featured a number of tracks from Spears' latest album, 'Circus', including lead single 'Womanizer'.
But it was the former teen star's more well-known songs, such as debut single 'Baby One More Time', that really sent fans wild.
Spears was surrounded by jugglers, martial arts dancers and acrobats as she performed onstage in a variety of costumes.
Initial reviews from the concert have suggested that the singer may have lip-synced some of the tracks, although that “did not seem to bother fans”, the Press Association said.
The two-hour long show ended with an extended remix of 'Womanizer' and a reprise of 'Circus'.
Spears simply told fans at the conclusion: “Thank you, New Orleans.”
The Circus tour will arrive in the UK this June for a run of eight nights in London and one in Manchester. Tickets are still available via the Gigwise Gig Guide.
