Friendly Fires To Go 'Samba' On New Album

Their second record with have a Brazilian influence...

Friendly Fires have revealed that they are planning to take some of their live show into the sound of their second album.

The band have regularly been joined on stage by Brazilian musician's while playing live recently and apparently that South American feel is set to permeate their new material.

Singer Ed MacFarlane told the BBC: "It's that samba, calypso vibe that's been pushed further. It's a progression from (single) 'Jump In The Pool'. It's really Brazilian. There's no 4/4 drum beats, it's all traditional samba rhythms.

"It's something that we've been experimenting with and we really like. It's something a bit different from just doing more traditional disco-inspired music."

  • @Gigwise I've always figured its a way to use up the budget so they don't have a surplus each year. They don't charge for them, do they?
