Producer and songwriter Micachu took time out after her show at The Great Escape last night to tell Gigwise about a new mixtape she’s planning to release next month.
The tape, called ‘Kwesachu’, is a collaboration with another producer, Kwes, and features remixes and covers. It will be available for free on 5th June on Micachu’s myspace.
“We try to change the songs as much as we can to keep them fresh,” Micachu explained. Her set was plagued with technical problems due to a faulty kick-pedal but still went down a storm with festival-goers.
Micachu is joining hundreds of revellers venue-hopping in Brighton this weekend as part of The Great Escape festival. “There are loads of bands I want to see tonight,” Micachu told Gigwise, before name checking psychedelic leftfield New Zealander Connan Mockasin, and The XX, who she declared one of her favourite bands.
Look out for more Great Escape news coming soon on Gigwise...
