Green Day scooped the Best Rock Album award at the Grammys in Los Angeles last night and frontman Billie Joe Armstrong hailed the moment in their career as “the sweetest time.”
Taking to the stage, the singer said: "I have to say that this is the sweetest time ... I think just the pressure coming off American Idiot.
"Then putting out 21st Century Breakdown and getting recognized for it and all the success that it's had, it feels really great."
Speaking to MTV, bassist Mike Dirnt also praised Kings of Leon who walked away with three awards on the night.
"I thinks it's pretty exciting that Kings of Leon won. It's good for rock and roll," he said.
