William Orbit has revealed that he is producing Katie Melua's new album.
The former Madonna collaborator, perhaps best known for his trance remix of Samuel Barber's 'Adagio For Strings' said he “fell in love” with Melua's voice.
“She sent me some songs a while ago and I fell in love with her voice,” he told The Daily Star.
“We’ve had a really good time doing it. She’s got the raw talent that I like.”
He added: “Association is a dangerous thing in music. People may have only seen one side of Katie. I get it all the time too from my association with Madonna.”
53-year-old Orbit added that he'd like to work with Dizzee Rascal on a future project.
“I love Dizzee, he’s like a national treasure,” he enthused. "He was recording with a band and orchestra next door to me while I was working with Katie. He was seriously rocking.”
