Lily Allen has revealed that both the Labour and Conservative parties have asked her to endorse them.

The singer said both parties had asked her to attend their annual conferences in the run up to next week's general election.

It comes just months after Tory leader David Cameron claimed her music wasn’t “suitable” listening for his six-year-old daughter Nancy.

“Yeah, and also I thought that his favourite album that he likes listening to with his kids is the Arctic Monkeys, which if I’m not mistaken is all about one-night stands and prostitution,” Allen told the Times.

“But never mind. I don’t think they’d have been denouncing me if I’d turned up at the Conservative party conference.”

When asked if she had been invited, the singer replied: “Yes, I got an invite to the Labour one as well.”

As previously reported on Gigwise, Allen recently said she planned to take a break from music, although she will appear at the Wireless festival in London in July.
