Eminem admits that his last album ‘Relapse’ had shortcomings on his new single.

The track, entitled ‘Not Afraid’, debuted on US radio today (April 29).

The synth and piano-led song, which has been described as “uplifting” by the rapper’s manager, features a number of reflective lyrics.

Eminem, whose last album recalled his successful battle with drug addiction, encourages others to “follow me” if they are facing similar problems.

“I’m not afraid to take a stand, everybody, come take my hand, we’ll walk this road together,” the rapper says in the chorus.

During the second verse, Eminem also takes aim at his 2009 album ‘Relapse’, telling fans that “I never let you down again”.

"In fact, let's be honest / That last Relapse CD was ehh / Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground/ Relax, I ain't going to do that now,” he raps.

‘Not Afraid’ is the first single to be taken from the rapper’s new album ‘Recovery’, which is released on June 22.
