- More The Rolling Stones
Keith Richards has said The Rolling Stones are waiting for singer Mick Jagger to give the go-ahead before recording new material.
The guitarist said he had ideas for new songs but had yet to approach his bandmate with them.
"I usually wait for a call from him saying 'Let's make something, let's do something', because without his actual 'want to do it', there's not much point,” he told Absolute Radio.
"I'm always working. I've got ideas for stuff but I haven't put them together yet with Mick. But I'm seeing him next week."
The Rolling Stones last studio album 'A Bigger Bang' was released in 2005.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Richards revealed recently that the group had considered playing special one-off gigs which would see them play their iconic albums in full.
The band are currently promoting the re-release of their 1972 album, 'Exile On Main Street'.
