Michael Jackson Fans Mark First Anniversary Of Death

Fans of Michael Jackson have begun marking the first anniversary since the star's death.

The singer died a year ago today (June 25) following an overdose of a powerful anaesthetic at his home in Los Angeles. He was 50.

Events are planned across the globe, including at Jackson's final resting place at Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles.

Members of the singer's family are expected to join hundreds of fans to pay tributes to the singer at his mausoleum.

"My family and I will be in attendance as we mourn the loss of my brother," Randy Jackson said in a statement.

"I would like to thank the fans and friends for their continued love, support and prayers."

The Apollo Theatre in New York, which saw an early performance from the Jackson 5 in 1967, is told hold a commemoration of the late singer's life.
