Band threatened to have dance act thrown out...
Groove Armada's Andy Cato has revealed that they were confronted by Kings Of Leon at the V Festival in Chelmsford last month.
Cato said the incident took place after bandmate Tom Findlay was prevented from going to their dressing room by the US band's security team.
The two acts then came face-to-face as Kings Of Leon were driven to the main stage ahead of their headline slot.
“As it became clear what all this presidential fuss was about, Tom gave the worldwide one fingered sign of dislike as the cars went past,” Cato wrote on Groove Armada's official website.
“The last one stopped. The drummer (Nathan Followill) got out making 'come on then' type gestures. 'Come on then,' Tom gestured back.”
The Groove Armada star continued: “Instead, the drummer went back behind his bodyguards, and, pointing towards Tom, Paul Weller, and the various other musicians who were pinned by the side of the road, said 'I want them removed.'”
Cato went on to reveal that the festival's promoter was able to calm the situation.
But he added: “Bearing in mind this was all happening backstage in the area shared by all the bands, it's hard to see what the Kings thought they were protecting themselves from.”
