George Michael 'Breaks Down In Prison Cell'

George Michael broke down as he spent his first night in prison earlier this week, it's been reported.

The former Wham! star was jailed for eight weeks on Tuesday (September 14) for crashing his car while under the influence of drugs.

According to The Sun, Michael is being housed in the Vulnerable Prisoners Unit away from the main population at Pentonville prison.

The singer's cell apparently includes a small TV and kettle so he can make hot drinks. But he is said to be finding it hard to adjust to his new surroundings.

“When he went to use a payphone in the communal area he was hunched over it - distraught and in tear,” a source said.

Michael was arrested in July after he crashed into a photographic shop in Hampstead, London, causing extensive external damage. He pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis and driving under the influence of drugs last month.

The sentence marks the latest in a series of brushes with the law for the star, who only recently finished a two-year ban for drug driving.
