Kanye West has revealed that his new short film Runaway was inspired by Michael Jackson and Prince.
The rapper introduced the 35-minute long movie, which was filmed in Prague, at a private premiere in London last night (October 6).
Directed by Hype Williams, the movie tells the story of West's new relationship with a girl, who is a phoenix who has fallen to earth.
West told reporters that the project should be viewed as a a “modern version” of Jackson's 'Thriller' and 'Purple Rain' by Prince.
The soundtrack is taken largely from his forthcoming album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy', which is released on November 22.
Runaway is also the title of West's new single, which is out now.
Guests at last night's premiere included West collaborator Mr Hudson, Marina and the Diamonds and Lemar.
