X Factor winner Matt Cardle is on course to score this year's Christmas number one spot with his debut single 'When We Collide'.
The track, a cover of Biffy Clyro's 'Many Of Horror', sold 112,000 copies on its opening day.
The Scottish band's original version is also set to chart inside this week's top-10, according to the Official Charts Company.
The track sold 15,000 copies on Monday thanks in part to a Facebook campaign calling for fans to help make it number one instead.
Cardle's nearest challenger is Rihanna's Drake-featuring single 'What's My Name', which is 70,000 copies behind.
Cage Against The Machine's all-star festive single of silence, '4'33', sold 6,000 copies and is currently just inside the top-20.
Meanwhile, Take That are expected to retain the number one position on the album chart with 'Progress'.
