Glee creator Ryan Murphy has said he regrets calling Kings Of Leon “self-centred assholes” after they refused to allow their music to appear on the TV show.
Murphy launched a tirade against the Nashville band in January when they turned down a request from Glee to licence their hit 'Use Somebody'.
In an interview with Reuters, Murphy said he had not spoken “with as much clarity as I would have liked” and that he respected Kings of Leon's stance.
"Who am I to say 'F-ck you?' That's not what I meant. I completely understand when artists don't want a show or another artist to interpret their songs,” he said.
“In fact, I respect it. It's their personal work and I'd feel the same way. We get turned down all the time and I've don't fight it or even go back after a rejection."
Murphy went on to reveal that Bjork had also turned down an approach for one of songs to be used on the show, which tells the story of a fictional high school glee club.
