Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon have unveiled the names of new born twins.

The couple had been keeping the identity of their children a secret since the birth earlier this month.

But Carey finally revealed via Twitter on Wednesday (May 4) that the babies were called Moroccan Scott Cannon and Monroe Cannon.

Their sons's first name is called Morrocan because the top tier of Carey's New York City apartment is called the Moroccan Room and is Cannon proposed to his wife.

A spokesperson said their daughter's was named after Marilyn Monroe, “who has been an inspiration to Mariah her whole life”.

Carey and Cannon married in April 2008. They had been keeping fans up to date with Carey's pregnancy on each other's Twitter pages.
