Keith Richards has said he enjoys playing the role of Captain Jack Sparrow's father in the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise.
The Rolling Stones guitarist-turned-actor has reprised his role as Captain Teague in the fourth movie, On Stranger Tides, and joined Johnny Depp, who plays Sparrow, at the film's premiere at the weekend.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Richards said the franchise had given him an exciting new outlet for his creativity.
“Not everybody that likes pirate movies necessarily likes rock ‘n’ roll, right, and so this all gives me another chance to communicate with different people,” he said.
“Now everywhere there’s all these young people who know me as Capt. Teague, not as Keith Richards. ‘That’s Jack Sparrow’s dad!’ And that’s cool, man.”
Pirates Of The Carribean: On Stranger Tides also includes an appearance from Penelope Cruz.
