Johnny Depp has revealed that he has been working on songs with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean actor, who has a well known interest in music, said he had been “hanging out” with the American Idol judge on the studio.

"We've been hanging out here and there,” he told Extra. “He's someone I've admired greatly for such a long time. The idea of writing songs with him is a dream come true."

Tyler was among the guests who attended the premiere of Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at the weekend.

As well as Depp, the film also stars Penelope Cruz and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.

The actor said that spending time on set with Richards was like being in a rock and roll band. You can see pictures from the premiere on Gigwise.
