Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has said he expects he and fiancée Kate Hudson's first child together will have an impact on their band's next album.

The group are set to enter the studio later this year following the birth to begin work on the follow-up to 2009's 'The Resistance'.

Speaking at the Ivor Novello Awards in London yesterday (May 19), Bellamy said: "I'm hoping to be inspired by upcoming events, I'm sure that will have a massive impact on the next Muse record."

The band collected the award for International Achievement at the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Bellamy also revealed that they still held out hope of being the first band to perform in space.
