Pete Doherty Jailed For Six Months For Cocaine Possession

Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty has been jailed for six months after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.

The singer, who has been jailed twice before, was arrested last year as part of an investigation into the death of heiress Robyn Whitehead.

Doherty did not show any emotion when the verdict was read out at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Judge David Radford said he had an "appalling record" of committing offences, reports the Press Association.

Peter Wolfe, 42, a friend of the singer's, was sentenced to a total of 12 months in prison.

Doherty's jail term comes in the middle of a UK and Ireland. A planned gig at the Barrowlands in Glasgow tonight (May 20) has been postponed.
