Muse's Matt Bellamy will step down as lead songwriter, it has been revealed.
The frontman, who is expecting his first child with actress Kate Hudson in July, will pass songwriting duties over to bassist Chris Wolstenholme.
The bassist will now begin working on new material for the band's follow-up to 2009's 'The Resistance'.
"Matt's raised the bar quite high in terms of songwriting. I'm a bit nervous because I don't want to write a song and it be responsible for the demise of the band," Wolstenholme told The Sun.
Meanwhile, Bellamy also revealed that they still held out hope of being the first band to perform in space.
