Michael Jackson Insurance Firm Refusing Pay Out For Cancelled Shows

The firm that insured Michael Jackson's UK comeback gigs has asked a US judge to void the $17.5 million policy.

Concert promoter AEG Live are being sued by Insurer Lloyd's of London after failing to supply the firm with details about the singer's apparent "prescription drug use and/or addiction".

It is reported that AEG took out the cover with the UK firm, for up to $17.5 million, two months before Jackson's sudden death in June 2009, reports BBC News.

As a medical examination was never carried out on Jackson before the policy was taken about, Lloyd's now claim that they should not obliged to pay for the cost of cancelled 02 shows.

Meanwhile, the trial of the doctor accused of giving Michael Jackson a fatal overdose of drugs has been postponed until September.
