Robbie Williams has hit back at comments about his foul language during Take That's recent comeback live shows.

The singer, who has his own five-song solo set during the Progress show, offended fans over his bad language and crude gestures.

Defending his behaviour, Williams told The Sun: ''I was born and raised for the first three years of my life in a pub.''

He added: "One of my first words was f*ck and one of my first sentences was, 'Give me a f*cking Harvey Wallbanger, please'. I didn't get one."

During Take That's Wembley show on Friday (July 8), Williams told the audience: "I really apologise for all the swearing. There's a number you can ring to complain. It is 0800 Go F*ck Yourself."

The band's tour has so far seen them perform at stadiums in Sunderland, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. It is Take That's first in fifteen years to feature Robbie Williams.
