The lead developer of FIFA 12 has responded to Konami's claims that PES 2012 will "smash them this year" by saying that EA Sports' latest football installment is "brilliant."
David Rutter was full of confidence during an interview with God Is A Geek, speaking up the newest version of the ever-popular sports sim.
He said: "I think we won around 20 awards at E3, including best sports game, I don’t know what they (Konami) won, and we are fully focused on making the very best FIFA that we possibly can, and we have come up with a whole heap of features that we have announced, and a bunch that aren’t yet, and I think our game is brilliant."
When asked if the EA team plays a lot of PES, he replied: "Definitely not a whole team of people playing PES, we keep our eyes on ALL the competition, even games within EA, but it is not something I worry too much about.
"I’m too busy thinking of what we can make better in FIFA."
FIFA 12 is available on all formats in September, with PES 2012 going on sale the following month.
