Jerry Leiber, the songwriter who wrote tracks for Elvis Presley, has died at the age of 78.
Leiber, who worked alongside Mike Stoller, wrote two of Elivs's biggest hits, 'Hound Dog' and 'Jailhouse Rock', as well as songs for The Drifters and Ben E King.
He died of cardiopulmonary failure in Los Angeles, a spokesman told BBC News.
Leiber's 'Hound Dog' was first performed by Willie Mae "Big Mama" Thornton, but it was Elvis who made it a hit.
Together, Leiber and Stoller's wrote 15 number one songs. The pair both entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
