More about: Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine has apparently claimed that the singer was nearly caught up in the 9/11 terror attacks in New York.
The singer was due to attend meetings at the World Trade Center when the planes hit the towers but had overslept.
Jermaine told The Sun: "We were terrified when the towers fell, as we knew Michael was due there. But mom said he was fine. He missed his meetings, which was great."
Jackson was in New York at the time to perform a special concert at Madison Square Garden.
Earlier this year, a former personal assistant of Elizabeth Taylor claimed Jackson escaped the attacks with Taylor and Marlon Brandon on a road trip across the USA.
Jermaine Jackson is currently promoting his new book You Are Not Alone: Michael, Through a Brother's Eyes, which recalls Jackson's final days before his death in June 2009.
Last weekend saw the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
