Gerard Butler has said that his King Leonidas in 300 was the best character he ever played.
The actor also admitted that he would jump at the chance to reprise the part for the sequel to the 2007 film.
The 41-year-old told People: "If the script was good, I would do it. I've got to feel that there's a real reason to go there, to do a second one, because I loved the first."
Butler went on to add that he has high hopes for 300: Battle of Artemisia, saying: "I hope that they write a great script and I hope that I love it. That was my favourite role, and it would be great to go back there and have some fun with it."
Both Butler and co-star Lena Headey, who played Queen Gorgo, are expected to make cameos in the sequel, which is due for release in 2013.
