Kasabian have slammed fans of U2, describing them as like “cardboard cut-outs”.

The Leicester band supported the Irish group on their 360 Degree world tour and frontman Tom Meighan said they did not enjoy the experience.

"I didn't take in anything supporting them - them gigs were horrible. Worst ever. U2 fans are cardboard cut-outs,” he told The Sun.

"Can you imagine supporting U2? Their fans are probably into one band and one album - 'Joshua Tree'. I didn't learn anything 'cos that's just a f*cking different level."

But Meighan, who said the band would never be a support act again, did add that it was “amazing to watch and meet” U2.

Kasabian's new album 'Velociraptor' has gone straight in at number one on the UK album chart.
