The guitarist, who had been battling cancer, died in the early hours of this morning (October 5) at a hospice in Hampstead, north London, according to BBC News.
Jansch was born in Glasgow in 1943 and founded Pentangle in 1967.
The group spent six years together, enjoying success with the single 'Light Flight', which was released in 1970.
