Ian Brown has been speaking at the press conference to announce the reunion of The Stone Roses.
The seminal group are reforming after a fifteen year hiatus to perform two gigs at Manchester's Heaton Park, where they will perform new songs.
Brown said: "This is a live resurrection that you're all invited to.
"We hope to put out a new album of new music. But I can't say. It's like a language we all used to speak and we ain't spoke for a while."
He continued: "I've parked my solo thing on the sound. We'll ride it 'till the wheels fall off. And we did last time. There's no one in the world who can play like these three.
"I think we're still great and we've still got it. We wanted to announce our reunion after the riots."
When asked about his thoughts on the current state of music, Brown replied: "It's boring and bland at the moment."
As for playing in Manchester, he added: "It was important to do the shows in Manchester. I wanted to thank the people of Manchester."
Tickets for the shows go on sale on Friday (October 21) at 9.30am.
