Coldplay have knocked Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds off the top of the albums chart with their latest offering 'Mylo Xyloto'
The band have now managed to go straight to number one with each of their five studio albums after outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined this week, according to the Official Charts Company.
Michael Buble's 'Christmas' was a new entry at Number 3, Kelly Clarkson's 'Stronger' debuted at number 5 and Tom Waits' 'Bad As Me' was at number 10.
Elsewhere, on the singles chart, Professor Green achieved his first Number One with 'Read All About It', which beat Labrinth's collaboration with Tinie Tempah 'Earthquake'.
Rizzle Kicks went to number 8 with 'When I Was A Youngster.
