More about:

Friendly Fires have been forced to cancel two further shows on their UK tour due to frontman Ed MacFarlane's illness.

The trio were forced to cancel a number of shows last week after Ed was diagnosed with a viral throat infection and was deemed too ill to perform.

The band have now been forced to also call off their shows at Nottingham Rock City on Monday (November 14) and at O2 Academy Newcastle on Tuesday (November 15) as a result of MacFarlane's illness.

In a statement the band said: "With deep regret we are having to postpone our Nottingham and Newcastle shows this week as Ed's voice is still recovering from laryngitis. Again, sorry to everyone who was looking forward to seeing us. We are in the process of rescheduling these dates as soon as possible."

The band's next show will take place on  Thursday (November 17) at O2 Apollo Manchester, with that gig at present still set to go ahead.
