Prime Minister David Cameron has said he wants to issue age restrictions on raunchy music videos.
According to a letter seen by the Daily Telegraph, it is part of a plan to curb "the commercialisation and sexualisation" of childhood.
It is also thought that the government aim to ban the use of sexualised images in public advertising and cover up explicit magazine displays.
This follows criticism which has been ladled on the likes of Lady Gaga and Rihanna for sexing up their music videos.
Rihanna's 'S&M' video, which featured the pop star simulating sex with a blow-up doll was banned in 11 countries, whilst her video for 'We Found Love' was described as a “disgrace” by anti-rape campaigners.
