Interpol's Paul Banks Announces New Solo Album

Interpol's Paul Banks has announced details of his new solo album.

The frontman is currently putting the finishing touches to the follow-up to 2009's Julian Plenti is… Skyscraper, reports Pitchfork.

It is reported that the album will be released under his solo alias Julian Plenti, and will be released later this year.

In an exclusive interview with Gigwise, Interpol drummer Sam Forgarino said the band were looking forward to time off and that he and all his bandmates had plans in place outside the group.

“We need a big break. Interpol needs it. We need to recoup and go on a proper hiatus,” he said.

“Who knows what is ahead for the band, I think we're all just looking forward to relaxing for a while and catching up with our own things.”
