Gigwise has had the chance to hear what we reckon will be an album of the year contender - Jack White's debut solo album 'Blunderbuss'.
The singer previewed material from the album to fans at the Third Man Records showcase last night (March 8).
The surprise performance saw White perform six tracks from his new album as well as White Stripes tracks.
The SXSW festival, which takes place this year in Austin from March 11-20, traditionally mixes new live music with industry conferences.
Acts for this year's festival included Bombay Bicycle Club, Chapel Club, The Naked and Famous and Pulled Apart By Horses. Also performing at the festival is X Factor brat Cher Lloyd.
