Green Day announce first live dates of 2012

Green Day have announced their first live dates of 2012 - but unfortunately for UK fans, there's nothing scheduled for our shores yet.

The band will perform at festivals in Japan and France, headlining Summer Sonic and Rock En Seine in August.

Earlier this month the band promised their new material would "blow fans f*cking minds" and would be the first time the band sung about sex.

While Green Day are yet to announce any UK shows, their musical American Idiot will be travelling the country. Dates are as follows:
