One of the most boring bands around have admitted that their last album may have been a tad self-indulgent...
The band are set to release their fourth album Strangeland on May 7, and said that new LP will have some genuine "single contenders".
"We felt that 'Perfect Symmetry' was pretty sprawling, a little bit self-indulgent in places," he told XFM. "Certainly sonically – we referenced Bowie, Talking Heads, those kind of bands, which was quite an unusual step for us."
On their first album since 2008, he said: "With this record, we felt we wanted to get back to having a problem with choosing singles. Like being stuck with 10 or 12 real single contenders from the album. We've had a lot of headaches over which song we should release first!"
'Silenced By The Night' is the first single to be taken from the band's comeback album 'Strangeland'
