Neil Young and Crazy Horse will release their new album 'Americana' on June 5th 2012.
The release will be the collective's first full length album release since 2003's 'Greendale'. The current Crazy Horse line-up includes Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina and Frank 'Poncho' Sampedro.
Neil Young revealed details of the album at the Slamdance Film Festival, and he says: “A very young choir of children plays with Crazy Horse on the album... They're songs we all know from kindergarden, but Crazy Horse has rearranged them, and now they belong to us.”
The songs on 'Americana' will all be classic American folk songs, including: 'This Is Your Land', 'Gallow's Pole', 'Tom Dooley' and 'Clementine'.
Neil Young and Crazy Horse made their first public appearance together since 2004 just last month, at a musical tribute to The Beatles legend Paul McCartney in Los Angeles, where they played “I Saw Her Standing There”.
