EMI has filed a lawsuit against Lil' Wayne's Cash Money Records over late payments connected to licenced music for Lil Wayne's hit album 'Tha Carter III'.

According to reports at the U.S Federal Court, Cash Money Records owes EMI over $300,000 after already paying the label $1.5million in a previous payment.

A representative from Cash Money has stated that the label "Has been in contact with EMI and will be resolving this amicably".

'Tha Carter III' was the sixth studio album released by American rapper Lil' Wayne, and debuted at number one on the US Billboard charts in 2008. The hit album has gone on to sell over 2.8 million copies, and produced the internationally successful single 'Lollipop'.
