Linkin Park have revealed that their fifith album will see the band return to their traditional sound, after getting more experimental on previous release, 'A Thousand Suns'.

Singer Chester Bennington spilled details of the band's next project during an interview with Kerrang magazine.

"This will be more familiar to people than A Thousand Suns was, where we were like 'F*ck it, we're just going to go bonkers'." Bennington told the magazine. "With this album, we've incorporated a lot of guitar work with big choruses and the heavier electronic stuff to give it that really big wall of sound feeling without getting too metal."

He also revealed that the band's next album would deal with more personal issues, adding: "We've been writing a lot about relationships.

"We're not a political band, we're a socially minded band. We try to look at things that we find in the world that we'd like to see more of, or that we'd like to see less of."

Bennington previously told Kerrang magazine that the band aims to produce a new album every 18 months and that the band's next release is expected to drop in 2012.
