Katy Perry accused of 'glorifying violence' in video

Katy Perry has been accused of glorifying violence and promoting the military in her latest music video.

The plot to 'Part Of Me' sees Katy splitting up with a useless boyfriend and immediately enrolling in the Marines, taking out her anger on a number of enemies and opponents.

Despite the video being presented in Perry's usual larger than life style, one critic has hit out at what she saw in the video and accused Katy of being paid to promote the Marines.

Naomi Wolf, a New York Times bestselling author, wrote on her Facebook page to ask: "Have you all seen the Katy Perry marines video? It is a total piece of propaganda for the Marines… I really want to find out if she was paid by them for making it… it is truly shameful.

Adding: "I would suggest a boycott of this singer who I really liked – if you are as offended at this glorification of violence as I am."
