George Michael has revealed that he is writing a song as a tribute to the fans who prayed for him during his recent time in hospital.
The legendary singer was struck down with pneumonia in 2011 and spent a long time in hospital in Vienna, Austria. During that time his fans rallied around him and prayed for his health to improve, something which eventually happened.
Tweeting about his return to health and getting back in the studio, George told his fans today that he is recording a song inspired by his experiences and the warmth he felt from his fans.
"I've been a busy boy in the studio this week, mixing symphonica and finally ready to write about what happened to me in Vienna. You may recall my reference to those strange individuals who took the time to pray for my death as I lay in my hospital bed back in November. Don't think I don't realise how many of you out there prayed for my recovery."
Adding: "I thank you all from the deepest part of my soul. And I will repay your unending kindness the only way I know how. With music. Yesterday I began to write a song called 'White Light'. It's for all of you, for everyone who prayed for me. And I promise you it's a blinder."
Meanwhile, George has rescheduled a number of European tour dates which had to be moved following his bout of illness.
